Score Out Darkness
reading brighter poems
found all those who lived in darkness
were not as profound
as those who composed poetry
of kindly loving night day and night
no fight
no disgust be polite
enjoy me for once
in full delight
tonight
then you will see you'll forget
all your darkness of any night
start tonight

Yes...
reading nothing but bright and uplifting poetry can be such a drag though. Sometimes, I want to scream: " Fk you goddam Smurfs!" There is real life going on here! Just kidding, lovedly. [In case you don't know about Smurfs]; they are blue cartoon characters that run around saying: "Everything is Smurfy!" Meaning, things are fine. I don't feel fine right now. Our country is in
turmoil and divided, we are lost in a quagmire of "He said, she said, and look at what 'they' did, so why are you so mad about what we did?" That is not the way we should live. We should live by the 'Golden Rule'. "Do unto others the way that you would have them do unto you." Unfortunately, people take the view of "Do unto them, before they do unto you." ~ Geez.

Gee you and I will die
in hoping what you want to hope
this is not the first time
with such history you cope
give all a long rope
then let them go down the stream
pull them up then
so they no more dream
ice is cold
even for bold
of course
we two are now
seemingly outdated but old

Hi, Lovedly,
My interpretation of your poem makes me feel that poetry is about the only thing that makes any sense at this point. Writing a bunch, reading a bunch - trying to 'score out the darkness' as you state. I'll be back to read again. You always have a wonderful hidden thought with a second look.
Thank you!

Less is more
Your works say so much using few words.

Hi lover
You know I am a see and say kind of writer. I see so much bad stuff lately and am occasionally driven to write about it. Then I look out the back door at nothing but woods and wildlife and at least for a spell I regain peace.Enjoyed your poem
a see and say kind of writer...yeahhhhh.
Thank you stan for enjoying my works
more than once
look not back into the backdoor
the woods are densely dark and deep
they will surely take away
your loved sleep
so read read and read politely
all poets will love and kneel
stanly to thee
even lovedly
Most folks
are more likely to knee me than kneel to me lol
