Intrepidation

Where will the words come from
When at last we meet
After all this time will I know you
Long walks on barren planes
Will yield all waited to be told
Are the tears that are shed
Of disappointment or joy
Tell me true
To look upon your face
and hear your voice at last
Then what if you should walk away
Leaving me only wanting more
I await the the day with trepidation
An image has been in my mind
for fifteen long years
but is it imagination
or who I might hope to find
