At a Long Lost Party

I yearned for another,
Who wasn’t you,
But she wasn’t there,
Unlike you,
At a long lost party
In old Cambridge town.

Did I fall
Just a little for you,
While longing for another,
Who wasn’t you,
At a long lost party
In old Cambridge town.

Hi Carl, what a wistful poem. I think the title, spacing and content are fine. You could put this to song and music. What form is it?
Enjoyed, Gracy

I'm really pleased you like it; and yes, it would make a good song, I've not done that yet, but I should do. I've labelled it Free Verse.

...but so far, it's not, but should be, thank you, Teddy. I am so pleased you like this, and it has made you think. I do agree with you, but...I can remember there was something uniquely awful about leaving a party alone, or being alone following a party, although today, in the unlikely event I'd find myself at a party, I'd want to leave as soon as was even remotely polite!
