The Cost Of A Smile

Clocks are not ticking in unison
still they compliment each other
echoing each others voice

The intimacy
between space and time
is no more than an afterthought
that lingers without boundaries

The vastness of a clear blue sky
reflects the outstretched sea
to hold the mirrored image therein

So what of man's emotions
aimed at his fellow man
will they mimic that space and time

Or will he shun self sacrifice
adhering to the center self
then dying all alone

How quickly we forget
what it is to want
do we not remember
what it feels like to need
wrapped tightly in our safe cocoons

While others suffer
their fated wounds
oh yes
we have forgotten
how to give
So what is the cost of a smile

philosophical thoughts going on here. I like the last lines, but I would love to see a question mark at the end. ~ Geez.
