Sardonic Smile

Eerie
bone chilling
mesmerizing the unwilling
evil lives within that smile
ensnaring all
with disdainful guile

Seeking out the weakened ones
lurking till the rise of sun
stalking his prey
with resolute stare
the stench of blood fills the air

Acidulous words fall from sneering lips
nails like talons
at each gnarled finger tip
Gnome
twisted figure
casting shadows into the night

A remnant of a man
under the dim lamplight
waiting
biding the forbidden
lascivious dreams he will be living
squandering immortality
with thought so dark and vile
and e're he will be wearing
that cruel sardonic smile

Geezer

sounds like a very, very bad man. The rhyming scheme is great in the beginning and I wish that it had continued all the way through. The rhythm stumbles a bit, but not badly. In any case, Damien seems like a really bad, bad dude. ~ Gee.
