What Answer Love

Are you a feeling of affection
running to it's depths
false senses that lust brings
or a heart that soars
with new found wings

Love I know not of you
you're just a four letter word
to think you are any more than this
seems to truly be absurd

What answer love
then do you give
within some,yet not in others
would you only be a heart
given on Valentines day
or more than that
this tell me,I pray

Perhaps the truth
in all the lies
a life long story
in a lover's eyes

I breathed you once
will I breathe you again
or have you been lost forever

Hello, Chrys,
Aw...I really like the way this speaks to me, mostly because I can relate so well. Having loved earnestly once and lost, does one only hope to love again, or just go on and let go? Your words are so sincere.

Thank you!

one is given another chance and you can grab the brass ring. Sometimes, you have to go around on the merry-go-round a few times. I think that for some, the next one just never matches up. A wistful poem, that echoes in the emptiness. ~ Geez.

Dear lynn, your poem is sensitive and mournful. The title is perfect, it goes well with the sad yet questionning theme throughout. As usual, a have a few suggestions for you to TorT. Tweaking some extra words, as below.

Are you a feeling of affection
running to its depths
or false senses lust brings,
a heart soaring
with new found wings?

Best, Gracy
