How Lovely

(For the Poets)

How lovely
To be here
Beneath this sky
Beneath these trees
To feel this sun
To touch this grass
To hear these sounds
To smell this air
To see these stars
Within this universe
So vast
Yet small.

How wondrous
To be here

At all.

of a question I was asked a couple of years after I lost the sight in my left eye, due to a B.B. gun accident. The person asked me if I were bitter about it. [ I didn't have any ready answer, but not wanting to disappoint ], I said; "Not really, I still have one good eye to see all of the great things in life." I didn't have any bitterness toward the person that caused it, but; I didn't exactly feel the way I answered. Then, one day, I got something in my good eye and was having trouble seeing, [temporary]. When I got normal sight back, I thought; "Yes, it's true, I still have one good one to see all the good things in life. Sky, trees, colors and all of the people I love and I had a chance to work at many jobs and do many things. Yes, how great to be here at all! Thank you for bringing that back to me. I especially liked the little rhyming at the end. " So vast yet small, How wonderous to be here, At all~ Geezer.

I read your comment and find it not less inspiring than Lavender's poem.
Thanks for both of you!

Inspiring is the least to say. I really appreciate the tenderness and the kindness that shine from your words.
Thank you dear.

Lavender, we should really appreciate all those beautiful things in Nature, that you have so deftly put into poetry. I certainly do, as I think most poets do, as well.
Not sure about the title, don't think it does merit for your poem. The ending is just right. May we all enjoy Nature's gifts to us.
Best, Gracy
