Ride The High Wind

Falling
stumbling
through the darkness
of another sleepless night
emotions seeping into
all I attempt to write

Silence surrounding
solitude abounding
engulfs me where
none is what it seems
passions ride the high wind

Grasping
Clutching
tendrils of the forgotten
await on the precipice
of one conscience thought

Binding
reminding
reality breaks a heart
yet still
passions ride the high wind
tearing me apart

Clutching
touching
the mist of journey's
end

I like how you've structured this piece though the second stanza has a bit deviated than the others. I have to admit though I read it more than twice and still feel there's a lot need to grasp.
Engulf...should it be engulfs or I am missing something?

Shall make sure to see what others have to say.

C

should be engulfs thank you
lol I just might reveal the mmeaning when others have commented on it
thank you for taking the time to read
hint: the answer is obvious

Hi lynn, good poem, I only think it should be shortened a little by joining some lines together. I think I've said this before...lol.
I take it to mean the isolation you feel during this pandemic. We don't know when it will end. Sad...I've also developed sleep disorders, never had them before.
I'll drop by again. Dare I say "cheer up"?

C

Thanks so much for the visit. When freestyle is written each though has it's own line
lol no has nothing to do with the pandemic
Hint: lets see now , it is about me read deeper into it

2-empty and alone at the same time the passion for life and living is strong
3-the thought of have I forgotten how to give to another
4-wanting to try but afraid of being hurt again
5-I've given up trying

so there you have the why behind the poem
