She'd lay her head on her pillow
As do us all, ah guys you know!
But what's she thinking, blue or red?
When on the pillow she'd lay her head?
She'd laugh and cry, to draw a smile
On someone's face away a mile
She'd do her best to clear a sky
To draw a smile, she'd laugh and cry.
With words so raw, with words so true
Many with her thoroughly grew
We'll sure recall M.Angelo
For words so raw, for words so true.

Thank you.
I've been watching Maya Angelo presenting her works and reciting her poems for two days in a try to awake my sleeping muse, she didn't let me down. She is a great source of inspiration, she surely is.
The coming May will be the third year for her to leave our world but her works shall live in our hearts forever, hence come my humble verses.
Thank you for reading and leaving these kind words.
Nice tribute to Mary, Rula. I
Nice tribute to Mary, Rula. I loved her book "I know why the Caged Bird Sings" and have heard her reading her poems, especially at Clinton's inauguration. On Utube, I think, or perhaps some podcast. I live in Argentina, so missed it on TV.
I like your rhyming, it's very good. Moon on a Rainbow Shawl...that also came from Mary. Wonderful and brave person.Tx for reminding me of her.
Thank you Gracy
