Looking for Peace

I've been searching all over through country and town,
To find a place to set me down -
A quiet place with a friendly aire,
When I find it I'll know I'm there.
I've looked and looked over land and sea
But there no longer seems to be
A land where people are loving and kind,
Where hatred and war are left far behind.
I seek a place where men are free
To be what God had meant them to be,
Where bigotry and prejudice have been driven out
And people have learned what peace is about.
For peace on earth is hard to find and harder still to keep,
When brave men die in battle and wise men are asleep.

Geezer

as guilty of it as anyone, but this seems as thought the lines are in a ragged time and it kind of throws it off. I love the sentiment and the work is plain enough to decipher, the rhythm is just off. I'm sure that you can find the rhythm that will bring it alive. ~ Geezer.
