Drying March winds in February
a deluge of spring rain flooding over the land
and poor mister cardinal is too early
with his mating song
and does not understand
Flora and fauna have woken to soon
on close observation there is still ice
around the moon
Groundhog perplexed there was no shadow
yet calendar claims
six more weeks of winter to go
Would be nice if this
early spring could last
and stay until the winter
has passed

I wasn't sure about this one; but after trying several different ways to read it, I found it made sense when read as though it were an entry into a diary. Nice. ~ Geezer.
P.S. too soon.

thank you visiting and leaving yor comment I was thinking about all the signs of spring such as the tornaedo touching down the cardinals mating song and te flash floods when I wrote this
An Early Visit
So warm weather is arriving too soon, that would be a disaster for fruit crops and flowering bushes, etc. On our apple farm in a valley in Patagonia, the frosts would then come and "burn" all buds or tiny apples or other fruits. Lost crop, Maybe something would survive.
I like the way you've composed your poem very much. Poor cardinal...lol.
Groundhog Day is fun, saw the movie about a dozen times. Great idea to include it in your poem. I don't think I have any crits to make, but will return for another read.
Gracy
