Impression (August contest)

The evening sky lights up
In brilliant flames of orange
Turning hazily to gold
As they go to caress the sea.

Approaching islands of clouds…
Sweep quickly overhead

And each island, catching
The slanting rays of sun,
illuminates in sky!

hello Mark.
quiet, yes, it should be soothing as a beautiful sunset is soothing.

I enjoyed this poem very much. It would be nice to read it on a warm day at sunset and then just lay back and dream a little about that beautiful sunset. Some nice soft music playing too. I want to read it again.

Hi Tyro, lovely poem, I also feel like watching that brilliant sunset. Especially as we're deep in snow here in Argentine Patagonia. In a while I'm going to walk out with my daughter. Love snow.
Enjoyed, Gracy
