Of Happiness

There can be no single
sentence
of comparison
of happiness

Many have different choices
some love money
others sex
few only love
many kisses

many like scores of friends
old ailing moms
want all kids to be around
when she is on her last
heavenly bound

Lord knows when
ah
but it's her last wish

some envy others' drawing rooms
carpets from Cashmir
and
newly weds want saris
and
silken skirts
from Bangalore

now no jeans please
confuses with genes
male or female
is he or she

so many are so greedy
and practically all say
we have no Ego
now just tell me
how to define joy
let me have my own go

of happiness
I just don’t know
but let me still have a go

A smile on my face
a dimple in my cheek
lovely words to hear
sweet nothings
when lovers to me reach

I need hot morning tea
a comfortable bed
plenty to donate
not hoard instead

this is just a bit of happiness
ere I am dead
come and smile
tell me glad
you had met me

I will remember thee
when that Lord alone
is besides me

then happy you will also be
for me

quite an inspiring poem Lovedone, we all have our different views on happiness. I did like your go on happiness very much.

I will remember thee
when that Lord alone
is besides me

then happy you will also be
for me

a beautiful ending, especially the last couplet.
