soul mates
in mud pomade
each one half of the other
a headless body
and a bodiless head
retrograde
two monsters
severed halves of a snake
the head with no heart
ravaged with criminal ambition
and she; the heart; a pulsing ache, headless
made him nauseous with her ceaseless churning
ocean of darkened milk
disjuncture of passed and future
a gnashed twig
time shattering time
slamming doors in each other's faces
through a disaster of eternities
on a black ash stair case
they ate the light of the world
a death fascination
yet could not die
and all was night
blind oblong
a brailed egg
in a curse of dreams
shadows desperate for love
they never find
snake wedding

as a wordsmith, and
as a wordsmith, and imagesmith you are superb, so I want to like it,
but the ideas are so far removed from my interest and tastes and experience and reality that I don't know what to make of it , or why I should even try.
ASTROLOGY? really
isn't reality big enough to explore?
I think you are, from what I have read of your other writings, extremely intelligent and knowledgeable, that is not what I am questioning.
I just can't understand your fascination with this particular topic
but to each his own, I suppose
don't even try to explain it to me, even if you had the inclination to do so
I'm too old and set in my ways to reconsider what I have already considered, and reconsidered long, long ago!
This does not change the fact that I absolutely respect and admire your talent

Hi Al
I totally get it!
ASTROLOGY? really …. My wife and I have been students of mythology & astrology etc for at least 30 yrs; so the fascination is pretty much baked in. Western astrology is pretty useless; you know like the pink section of the paper or the usual YouTube stuff, so it has the reputation it deserves but there are forms of it that are brilliant in depth and substance that facilitate great insight in the life path, like a cross between a mirror and a map of soul and destiny
Many of my poems touch on base sexuality and sometimes the most perverse kind. I guess I like the margins, occultism, etc I've made my living, as a professional artist, so WTF Im weird through and through ;)

'ceaseless churning
ocean of darkened milk' is a sour line that curdles my innards and makes me thirsty for more...

Hi Z,
I like the images presented,
much more before reading your
afterward, like Al, it isn't something
that interests me. Forty years ago,
for a while ...
I just wanted to thank you for sharing
your poetry and your insightful critiques.
cheers,

As the others...
I find your intelligence and wordsmithing superb, but have not much interest in the theme. I do understand that one sometimes finds comfort in trying to find the answers to life and death, in the stars,
philosophy, religion and conjecture. Myself, I am steeped in superstition and can point to dozens of instances, where I could say; "See, I told you so." I'm sure that it can be explained as just coincidence, but I take some comfort in that "See, I told you so". Thanks for the attempt at explanation, but...

Hiya Geezer and Moonman
Its not conjecturer It is occult science and it is an immense field Western religions ie faith based ideologies seemingly have no comprehension of the souls constitution and it relationship to the world or the self effulgent
The subject I write about is derived from traditions of knowledge that are in my opinion infinitely vaster than that of Christianity which is in fact extracted and edited conflicting gnostic ideas by a bunch of politically motivated Roman Senators some 300 hundred yrs AD ie the Council of Naica
Vedic astrology is my resource; and is an unbroken scholarship with a history that exceeds 7000 yrs
Anyone who seriously studies it would be moved by its illuminated texture immensity and brilliance
This poem is about the nature of shadow points. It is actually a very valuable predictive tool with accuracy and can elucidate the direction of a life path and its many challenges Personally I have found what I have learned from it indispensible Its like a life weather report ;)
