I might have my
Sometimes skewed
Point of view
But know this, baby
I love you
You might be bright yellow
When I wanna
Be blue
But know this, baby
I love you
The stars can’t always
Be aligned
And a good thing
Takes some time
Some time
I might see the forest
When you just
See the trees
But know this
You’re my main squeeze
You might be a tornado
When I just
Wanna breeze
But know this
You’re my main squeeze
Everything can’t always
Come up roses
But maybe that’s
What grows us
What grows us

And reads like a great lyric
to a coffehouse song. The best lyrics are usually catchy, easy, fun, transparent. Then it's about the music, the arraignment, the performance.
Are you a musician? It doesn't take much to be a songwriter, you just need a good ear and 7 chords.
Like Irving Berlin. Wrote everything in one key, with 7 chords. And there's actually money available from good lyrics, if you're lucky and don't get screwed as most good lyrics do.
Without music, lyrics rarely can only go so far in terms of poetry. Poetry, pure poetry, does not need music. It is its own music.
I agree, Eumolpus, poetry and
I agree, Eumolpus, poetry and lyric writing are sort of two different animals. Poetry should stand on its own. Though I think there are a lot of very poetic lyricists out there. This is no musical masterpiece, but here's the song in a simple recording, if you wanna hear it: https://soundcloud.com/gregwa8/what-grows-us
how very nice
I do often check out the coffeehouse music station in my car. Your song could easily be adopted by one of those very talented performers. I would send it to a few of them, it has a lot of potential!
thanks Eumolpus! coffee shop
thanks Eumolpus! coffee shop music is great. If I had Syrius or something like that, I'd definitely check it out more often. thanks for giving it a listen and your comments.

Feels good to read this. Its easy pieces..... a lotta love and a few tears...While not an astrologer I am well versed enough to know we are squeezed by oppositions and squares i.e. as the celestial forces move into difficult relationship they remain axiomatic of " as above so below" as we are baked into the world soul
