Each droplet of rain
a mercenary of life
god sends from the skies
we hear them knock on roof tops
waking us to join rain dance
Love fall from heaven
dark skies rain clouds are forming
silvery droplets
body cries out for comfort
from a stream boiling inside
Sun heats the waters
mist is freed of gravity
the clouds puff out full
butterfly exits cocoon
as clear drops fall on my head
Sometimes as drizzle
at times in heavy torrent
drops of rain perform
the stage suddenly lights up
to announce upcoming act
Kids get excited
to sail paper boats on streams
to voyage their dreams
some are of the warrior
Napoleon Bonaparte
In heat of the day
he flies paper plane, no wings
it soars to new heights
thick dark clouds covers the light
thunder roars before rain falls
Grey clouds bear rain drops
form rainbow against sunlight
to brush them on soil
soon a painting emerges
so very pleasing to eyes
Kids splash in puddles
adults walk in umbrellas
two talking pictures
first iconic of delight
other of missing the bus
Drenched from head to toe
kids return home in delight
because schools are closed
sun smiles again from the sky
to watch children play football
Why is rain biased
about when and where to fall
rather than bless all
flooding some with her riches
not reaching those famine lands
Sweeping all rubbish
that is littered everywhere
cleansing air as well
if ever she is enraged
wrecks a havoc in her path
Misted by the sun
cooled and mixed in with the dust
drops to thirsty earth.
children splash in the puddles
this is life itself to all.

Rain
Dear Barbara
I like your poem rain. I send you my poem for your comments. Walking in the night
I went walking alone in the dead of the night The birds had taken flight Except for the nocturnal owl flying silently about Not a soul was in sight Hear the echoes of my footsteps as I went walking in the night

Yes I love it.
It’s not structured for this renga 18 workshop but I am creating a renga workshop to accommodate your poem. It the rules won’t be Japanese structured only. But it will be under my new American Version of Renga. That’s being designed in my head we. Speak. I will structure your lovely rain storm for the First American Version of Renga.
