I stand before the sea,
the wind from my right,
the sun from my left;
and down the funnel
the sea sings a lullaby...
Oh boundless, boundless,
softly roar if you will
as you light your borders
on the great, wide sky!
Sing, great mother,
sing before me
in love's varied hue.
I close my eyes,
I drift,
I return to you.

Those last lines...
make me think of evolution and the fact that life here on Earth began in the ocean and we are called back and fascinated by the sea. Nice simplistic write that gives one pause to think.

I think this is an awesome poem
What a high elevated stance that is personal and giving to the reader. Great words, boundless, boundless....
(Might reconsider the title, a bit of a tongue twister.. )
Very moving poem. inspiring.
beautifully written
beautifully written you surprised me a really good writing attempt from your part
lines were formed with the slight of cadence only to get a grip of each flow.
This piece is timeless allowing art to be shown in light of a precious jewel
Loved the way you ended this piece also it really makes one think very great piece intact.
And I could imagine standing on the island
where stands the
STATUE of LIBERTY
all lonely
and
now I feel so free
surrounded by the waters
reading your poetry
That's a very lovely scene

Hi Tyro
the Title of your poem says Statued 'before" Sea therefore I don't think it is about Statue of Liberty...it tells me about the awe in which one is held almost transfixed like a statue from a standpoint on the edge of a sea/ocean....the poem certainly creates a vivid landscape and the thoughts that it inspires...
I am not sure but should it be Oh or just O?
a pleasure read providing great insights..
