It's All Good

a sunny day
low humidity
shadows are crisp

a zephyr leisurely strolls
through the valley
wispy clouds drift and sway

and here come the joggers
panting and sweating
ear buds implanted
goofy outfits
and a dead ahead gaze
cool shoes though

they pass quickly

birds are chirping
butterflys are fluttering
squirrls are chattering

ah! a waft of lilac
mingling with apple blossoms
quite pleasant and engaging

and here come the bikers
stormin' and roarin'
leather on leather
no helmet outlaws
fuming plumes of smoke and pot
(I wouldn't mind a toke or two myself)

the rumble slowly dopples away

sitting on the porch
as evening settles in
my old dog heaves a sigh

we are not like those others
they are not like us
and, as Martha used to say
"it's all good"

you have created short film here which has the images and moods of early summer...there are many favorite lines for me here one of them being "crisp shadows"...

Hello! What a great poem.
I feel the mood, it reflected perfectly. The skillful selection of a few precise details creates the whole world.
Even if I am one of those joggers, I feel the mood of your protagonist and relate to him, to his dog and repeat after Martha "it's all good"

I knew it !
cool shoes

I liked the poem too.
(I haven't seen any timberdoodles lately either)

O

I was looking to critique your poem, but I find it's all good.

One small note: the additional e in Dan Quail's potatoe must have been taken from your squirrls.

thank you

and I do recognize the witty Dan Quail (Quayle) reference
I gave him that "e" and now I need it back, but seems he has disappeared from
the public eye and most memories.

I appreciate your thoughts
