"Spring" ( For the contest on Spring )

I saw them there in the grass
So many nodding white flowers.
They seemed to be watching the earth
Their little pure heads bowed.

Time passed they faded and died
I was sad as I knew they were heralds
They greeted the spring afraid to look up
Lest they remember the chill winds

Joy to me they were replaced so quickly
A sea of yellow, with trumpets blowing.
A sound that only the Gods would hear
Letting them know that the spring was here.

Their trumpets sounded as they danced.
Who planted these we will never know
The bulbs lay dormant laughing at the snow
Breaking anew to give us many hours of joy

Fading with their sound wafting all around
They left returning to now warming ground
I shed a tear as they faded and died that day
An open space where only the grass did lay.

I walked to remember them and their show
A week or more had passed by since their glow
There all around me, I could not believe my eyes
A blanket of blue invaded, made me realise.

Life carries on from spring to season new.
The flowers tell us, White, Yellow, then Blue.
A wonderful sight for the likes of me and you.
I await the next mad rush of flowers in bloom..

Sparrow

The Snow drops are now over, and the Daffodils and crocuses are in bloom, but it will just be a week or so then the blue Bells will carpet the woodland again for a week or so.
Spring is here, the temperature is rising my trees are starting to leaf, the Bonsai's are budding again.
The evergreens are looking cleaner.
That's about it, then Summer arrives.
Take care and what of the piece I wrote was it OK ?????.
Take care talk soon, Yours Ian..

This is not up to your usual Standards especially for a competition.
Start off with something like.. The snow is still a blowing.
No flowers yet, all is wet (one Line)
Snows still clings to roads and gardens
Wait the nurseries have spring all year
Even when it snows out there.
April is here can May be far away
Let's not let Spring be delayed so stay
May flowers so many varieties
Spring just a fancy for the rich (Rich Enrich ????)
Wo have the warmer climates to enrich
Come stay with me for a little while.
Spring will soon be here and make you smile,
Open parks will be the face of May
May flowers do bring our dear spring.
Listen I hear the summers dream.
