To those of us that suffer from writer's block, as we all do from time to time.

and when you find
you cannot write
and will not write
read
read and scribble
until you are able
find your hand
again
and let the Muse
she your guide
your soul hide
again
and again find
your feet once more
in the shadows

Thanks
You are much appreciated.
And here is to the continued opening of the rivers of our thoughts!
CB
CB,
it seems when people have writers block...they write about having writers block and then they have don't writers block no more!
Is it ok to be different - I don't actually suffer from writres block...my head is always swimming with lines, stanza's, choruses, titles, bridges etc...I wish to have writers block just for a while.
My wife has even bought me a dictaphone to have by the bed!...if I wake up with something in my head, I have to write it down...so now I can stay safely in my warm bed and just whisper into the dictaphone and revisit sleep until the morning when I can then work on the nights words.
I guess I should write a poem/song about craving for writers block!
regards,
HS
As do I
I find it a rare predicament and quite momentary as I realise that it is only when I force myself in a direction that my mood or Muse have not chosen to take. My wife used to be my dictaphone. But our minds are wired up differently so now she just lets me be to my poetic devices. Ah, maybe that poem/song on the topic might just be the ticket. I will hold you to that.... if I don't get there first. LOL! Cheers, CB
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR HS!!
I've sunk into that lethargic type of depression where I'm not motivated to write at all.
I've been reading all day and very few poems have been hitting a chord with me.
However, this poem hit the nail on the head for where I've been today. :-P
CB
CB,
I believe the challenge is on!
HS
CB
CB,
find below my version of craving for writer's block:
Block
I try but can't hold back the thoughts
Head filled with rhyme and verse
I crave the moment that my words
Are evaporated by this evil curse
I pray for writer's block
Where time stands still
Like a broken clock
I try but can't fight back the words
Brain filled with verse and rhyme
I long for the moment my thoughts
Finally desert me, no longer mine
Writer's block is a mental disease
Authors words stuck in the deep freeze
I marvel at their illness with such jealousy
Wishing that blank mind was inside of me
Writer's block is a mental disease
Creative words lost upon the breeze
I wonder at their sickness with jealousy
Wishing I could be corrupted, finally
I try but can't fight back the thoughts
Brain filled with rhyme and verse
I crave the moment that my words
Finally disappear by this wicked curse
I plead for writer's block
With all words hidden
Sealed by key and lock
I try but can't hold back the words
Head filled with verse and rhyme
I long for the moment my thoughts
Abandon me, no longer in my mind

I look forward to reading yours,
Kindest regards,

Mine?
That completely slipped my mind. Had an onslaught of life's responsibilities this week. Must be the leftovers of gathering pieces of lives back together after the floods. But this is now a double dare... and I will not let you down. :-)) The 'patience' card will now come into play.
Here you go Dan
"cravings"
I slaver with anticipation
as your taunts fly past
let me grapple you
while your fangs pierce
and vilest venom spreads
numb my soul and mind
let me scream and cringe
agonise upon this page
let blankness reign supreme
slay this potent pen
for all of eternity
make your emptiness pristine
hover around my carcass
you scavenging vulture
eat away my rotted entrails
tear at sinews, limb from limb
pluck blind eyes and vitals
drain the fluids of creativity
cloying leech on pallid skin
halt my writing and my speech
in your acid, my verses bleach
let me writhe, mouth agape
drink your unquenchable thirst
hit me hard with writer's block
CB
CB,
aplogies for late response to your entry, been away for the past few days.
You definetly win the competition with the sublime one liners in-between the verses - you always beat me on structure!!
Lol!
HS
HS, It isn't quite a perfect
an example but the in-between one-liners form a sort of subpoem when put together. that's new experiment, fusing two or several poems into a larger body without losing organic unity in the resulting poem.
numb my soul and mind
make your emptiness pristine
drain the fluids of creativity
hit me hard with writer's block
IMO, everybody won. But I thank you for your chivalry.
Welcome back and hope you enjoy the recent developments here at neo.

I DARE TO DISAGREE
I dare to disagree,
No writer’s bock for me
And
You by now know me,
As my mind traces
The universe faster than thee
I have a penchant for writing poetry,
Hope you shan't disagree,
That as they say quantity
Is no quality?
But I challenge any one,
To composing poetry
At a stretch,
How so ever silly,
Let this one
Of marinated thoughts
The first one be
With that
Who could disagree?!
i do so
thank thee
As long as we are feeling
As long as we are feeling something we are alive, and in that aliveness we can write whatever we are feeling.... love, depression, anger, hatred, murder, sexual tension, obsession; indeed our own *life* are the words we are translating into a *poem*.
Much like: "In the beginning was the word." Except I would say: IS.
Some of us create music from the music that is ours and ours alone.

p.s. I am glad that the torrential rains have abated and you & yours are well.
Thanks Anna
And most likely in the end will still be (IS) the word. :-)
Thanks Ian
That is mighty kind of you. And loved the play with words that you so craftily employ. CB
well i had read this
before u know
nice to disagree
