Here in the evenings quiet
I see faces and hear words
They flow over me as always
Faces now of importance
Pictures that mean something
Hours of understanding pass by
Here tears are falling for them
Soft spoken tears of love for all
I hear also discontent of missing
Time means nothing to them now
Only we fear reality in times to come
They laugh at us and try to heal us
They say miss them, know them always
There in a whisper you can hear them sigh
Talk to them in normality, they hear you
Giants of words have journeyed on
Listen to them in the wind, or crashing sea
They will be there in our eternity.
I still try not to cry, but a weakness they find
Emotions of losses are so unkind

A worthy subject
i have at my bedside an one of those 10 lb anthologies called "Modern Poetry" published 1976 with examples from a few hundred poets , and I think just about all of them are dead by now...and so many of the poets discuss death, as is one of the meat and potatoes of poetry. Your poem nicely puts it all in perspective.
"They will be there in our eternity" The key line of the poem, and a worthy one.

Many thanks for your visit, I always love to hear from others.
This was really a piece to jog our memories of those that we have written with that now take up a place we all will go one day.
I wonder where we should be remembered, in our families, in our street, town, city or the world, does it make any difference where, or even that we are remembered on this plain, we are here on a mission to enhance our places, and being, in some far of Spirit world or what.
When we leave this life will it really matter, to have someone that we remember there is a balance between the good and bad as we remember many that did horrible things in this world and then the ones that showed us another facet of being loved by whoever.
Each to their own, I suppose it could be a selfish thing to be here just for ones own enhancement.
I think of those that visit us for a short while as some children taken away when very young, were they here to learn or to teach others.
Many questions for a Sunday, so that will do, good to think about theses things sometimes,
Take care and have a great weekend, Yours Ian..
Hi Ian
The best of them live on here in their works not just"over there" where we will all wind up
Stan
Thank you for your visit,
That we remember any person with love or just understanding means that they had a bearing on our lives for good or otherwise.
Our Esker and Joe, may have only affected us in a short span, a line in a poem, or a theme to make us think, then those allowed to be closer to them, where tears roll in memory.
We should probably appreciate more of our Sisters and Brothers that are here with us today, then we will know of them in both worlds with that thing called unconditional love.
The things I have been taught over the years I have been here, damn I cannot leave all the things behind for others to know of.
Still we will walk in Aspen groves together one day young Stan, Just whisper the names..
Yours Ian..
JOE?????
Has Joe died too? Crap nobody ever tells me anything!. Joe was the best technical poet here and his poetry would fit right in with any or all the classic poets.........stan
Thank you Stan
As Joe has been absent for quite a while now and was very ill just before he stopped posting I have to assume the worse, his carer Richard ended up writing for him during the last few streams.
We hope that he is walking here still but maybe him and Esker are learning new ways as the great Bard is there where they journey to.
I will look out his address and write a note to it and see what happens ok, You just take care and look after you and yours and know we care,
Yours as always Ian..
you leave me far behind... in your 'dead-ones' like journey
Ian I still journey along with you
stand by me till I become
an Esker may be...
can't say where is Joe
