A Tuesday Night In August

dog day evening
waning heat
miles' cool jazz

      frisson

feisty
electrifiying thunder
magnolia breeze

        tingles

her skimpy dress
cheeky kiss
and giggle

       blissening

my reminiscence of
that Tuesday night
in August

      mesmerizing

I think you've found your calling Al.

Bravo. Made me think of Mo' better blues, Blue train, Coltrane, and a night long ago.

My old man, had a copy of Miles' "Straight no chaser" EP and a stack of others, Brubeck and McCrae, "Take Five" sitting in his wardrobe, that being a nosy kid, I found one day, and stuck on his old record player. Well, there's no going back is there?

Blissening, is a great little invention. Love it!

Thanks.

Chris.

many thanks, Chris

most of my favorite moods include a background of moody blue jazz from the 60's
mostly Miles Davis ( pre-Bitches Brew)
I'm not an aficionado by any means though. I just like the stuff I am familiar with.

i thought "blissening" was my twist , but I looked it up on google, and there it was

thanks again for your remarks

Frisson ...jess used it in my poetry in lieu of masturbation I think/recall
mesmerizing... a gal said about my smiling poetry...about her features
AND
on the beach the other day
I felt like your August day today
15 Aug 2017
skimpy gals wearing almost nothing
invisible she's
blinding me
Thanks

minimal
paints a full picture with very few words- sounds, smells, feel of air-
has the wholestory- like a Hopper painting, or by Vermeer.
Like a pencil sketch that with just a few lines becomes a crowded landscape

Like the spacing. And the perfect title, repeated and not a distraction.
nice!

thanks for the gracious remarks
I like this one myself.
nothing bothers me about it. Something, in so many other poems of mine, annoys me
even though I can't put a finger on it, so it is a gratifying when one works to my satisfation

thanks again ,Mark

p.s. If you feel comfortable enough, you can call me Al. Most everyone does, after awhile

This would be worth reading just to see the word "blissening" lol. But the rest of this is pretty entertaining as well.........stan

I liked that word too
and it is also useful, utilitarian
why did it take so long to discover

hope you can find a place for it too
