Space Rock (8 word imagery workshop)

Sponge meteorite smoothed to blackness by star dust

About This Poem

Last Few Words: The Willamette Meteorite greets you at the Planetarium in NYC. I must have been in 6th grade at a school visit, I never forgot the feeling of touching it (allowed) , its blackness, and smooth surface, looking like swiss cheese, a rock from outer space! see it: http://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/permanent-exhibitions/rose-center-for-earth-and-space/dorothy-and-lewis-b.-cullman-hall-of-the-universe/planets/planetary-impacts/the-willamette-meteorite

I really like this. I expect not everybody is aware that a lot of material in space has a sponge like structure......stan

The contrast between porousness and smoothness really works, and the implications of star dust comes out very strong.
Very nice.
