Am totally with you there.
This latest abhoration is close to home, literally, its 45 miles away and it's a venue I've been to. That doesn't make it worse for me than for anyone who's 1000s of miles away, it's probably just a bit more scary in the fact you think that was close. We are starting to live with that threat over us all the time. Both my sons live and work in London. I wish they didn't, but I can't wrap them up in cotton wool. If we start to do that, and stop living our normal lives, carrying on as usual, then the bastards have won.
Mick and I were sat up in bed having a cuppa ( tea of course) this morning,talking about it and we said pretty much the same as your poem, only not as poetically.
I think it's also important to remember that whatever your views on religion are, these jihadists have nothing to do with any religion at all. Just the usual politics masquerading as religion. Lord knows, it's not new. I have a great many Muslim friends here in the north of England and they are just as appalled by this as anyone else. I do worry that they will be tarred with the same brush, by other 'political ' groups, spreading mistrust and hate further.
For the people that don't accept there is a god, then I suppose they won't agree that there is a hell either.
But.......... I do take some comfort that these evil doers are answerable to a higher authority, whatever that authority might be.

As a poetry therapist, we use poetry to allow people to express their deepest felt angers and fears and isolation. It is a function of the art. What human being is not horrified by these events? They are indefensible, and sickening.
But this is a poetry workshop. Use your skills as a poet to create the best poetry you can. My personal feeling is when traumatic events happen, such as this, or personal ones, give them a little time so you can create a poem that is bigger than itself.
I/we can certainly understand the need you had to write this. It is hard to put on the "poetry hat" when you are so emotionally moved. But that time will come, and you will make a better poem of it.

My thoughts go out to the injured as they will have to carry the largest burden.
My feelings go out to those that were lost, I cry because I can stand with them and the emotion is universal.

The New York times leaked security news about last Monday and there is hell to play here about it they are assisting the terrorists.
They showed parts of the scene and bits of the bomb how the hell we can sort these guys out when this happens I don't know, we share our intelligence with you guys over the water and this happens.
It has soured our relations with the states on the sharing side of intel about terror attacks.
We have arrested around 8 of the ones that maybe part of the group, this ass hole wasn't working alone and he was in Germany 4 days before he did it so he didn't have time to do all that on his own.
I am a little upset about the leaks, but we are stronger than to let this upset us too much

I couldn't agree more with your sentiments.
But the extremists are manufacturing bombs. The suicide bomber on Monday had made his own and apparently his house was full of stuff to make more. Obviously not by him. Unless he was expecting a ticket back. Guns etc all made easily and available from third world countries such as Pakistan, so asume they are made and readily available elsewhere too

I can but reflect on both the USA's and the UK's arms industry.
We both manufacture all weapons of war, I can only think of the glee on Trumps face as he secured an arms deal with Saudi Arabia, when these weapons are used against women and children in Yemen, The West is so responsible for the deaths of so many children and their parents.
It is so wonderful when us here can put a bomb through the window of a speeding car or flatten a hospital by absence of responsibility.
Isn't it about time we accepted that this is wrong, I shall never see a day of peace on this earth.
Is this the lessons we have to take to our graves.
We sit in our Ivory towers watching our weapons being used to flatten ancient cities and modern ones at that.
I cried when the twin towers scattered the dust of 3000 people in New York, what do I reflect in my mind when balancing all these things.
We both know Stan that we will never see peace, while our ivory towers are built on the money brought in by arms deals????
I reflect also on Trump Towers and how his wages and his Presidential salary are paid by the arms dealers.
Here in the UK we are the same, I have seen the rich, and also been in the areas where children can't eat unless they can get to the food banks before they close..
I visited a food bank I bet it would take you a few guesses where it was, to save time it was in Brisbane Australia, we are teaching so much to our children and grand children, I wonder if they will end up hating us or dying because we pretended to be blind..

In an ideal world there would be no wars and thus no use for such weaponry. Alas that time has not yet come. So what are we to do in order to protect ourselves against the barbarians who are at our gate? I would be more than happy to let them be and let them fester in their part of the world. But every time we try withdrawing from the world stage we wind up paying a heavy price.....sigh...So reluctantly we spend lives and treasure and try to take the fight to the enemy and to do so in a manner which will limit civilian deaths..........stan
