Selfie

In a pub today,
for a friend's birthday.
beard and hat and vest and hair
rampant.
Visually resplendent.

An auburn haired woman stroked my hair in passing.
Thank you auburn haired woman,
instant transformation from
old, ugly, doesn't belong,
to rockstar,
effulgent.

there is nothing like recognition and touch
the primates and all mammals
do this..communication
probably humans only
surround themselves with the walls
of words and isolation
and to share in a celebration
be a friend a chum
is what links us
connects us from becoming
the islands
be it the alluvial little resort
flats
or the rising crags of
impenatrable stone

I too am softened by the
smiles
touches of recognition
for many of the muses
know the hardships
of the climb or journey
to the shores of the remote
peace of the formidable
seas of passage

Thank U

your brother
Esker!

What a wonderful word.
Like this little snapshot, can identify with it.
Short and sweet but conveys a lot, succinctly. Jx

that show and still watch the occasional re-run. Spike may have been a terrible poet, but his heart was effulgent. He tried hard to be the bad-ass vampire, but anyone could see right through the façade. I like this one, written in honesty! ~ Gee.

I can identify with this kind of moment! sitting in my wheelchair waiting in line for seating at my favorite restaurant. a woman came up to me, gently touched my hair, and said: "Beautiful" in a caressing voice. she made my day!!! the structure and content of this poem, gave me a "refresh" of that feeling! thank you.

effulgent I am including in my dics under compilation jess
with ur blessings
I guess
and
yes

this young and lovely gal
smiles at me daily
when her ma'am I greet

but then her smile is not ordinary
it's red blushy
whisky
winey

Later I observed
a bigger tummy
was disappointed
she winked

don't worry
but I will name him after you
and
life long remain with you

now its different
we are on levels two
what in this age
can we do
but for life remember you
I blushed later she too....
