Alone With Silence
Someone built four walls, to keep me inside,
Someone gave me a mask, so I could hide,
And no one showed compassion, and they never wiped my tears,
And no one asked about my dreams, or even fears
I'm alone with silence again,
But please Lord help me find that friend,
That will guide me and bring me in,
From the world of trouble and sin
Someone told me the year, but they didn't tell me the date,
Judging from the sun and moon, my time is running late,
But someone taught me of rainbows, and other pleasures in the sky,
And now I follow this person without asking why
I'm not alone with silence anymore,
The Lord has found me a friend that comes to my door,
And this friend loves me, guides me, and brings me in,
From the world of hatred, trouble and sin
But I'm telling my new friend tonight
That if we ever quarrel or fight,
That even in our times of violence,
Please don't leave me, alone with silence

Hello
This reads like a nightmare especially the opening lines.
I like how then it changed with a much optimism uplifting tune by the end. I thought you have got a pretty many "ands" for such a short piece. This might be intentional though. Just a thought.
Thanks for sharing.
