I Stood in fresh anticipation when
the early wind set out to flirt and tease;
she mussed my hair, fetched scent of dew, and then
my lungs were filled, kissed by a bracing breeze.
At last the blazing, crimson gleam appeared,
the underside of azure clouds were sprayed;
my heart aglow as now the dawning neared,
then amber shafts split faery haze and played.
Such joy revealed at summit of the climb
for one who stands, to drink God’s grace alone;
the just reward for pain of former time,
ten days ago a breast was split and sewn.
Restart to life, let surgeons have their due,
so like the charm of each day born anew.

Lovely
A good description of a surgery, provided I get it right. It is a lovely poetic vision.
Yes indeed
5 days after a double bypass operation I was climbing a shale bing around half a mile from my house in order to be there to greet the dawn. It was simply beautiful. A bright speck on the horizon, the underside of clouds painted by nature. It was well worth the effort.
a conquest
It was quite a daring act. I can imagine how great you would feel. It is kind of a conquest after such a surgery.
wow....classic modern
my father had by pass...a fun resolute little fellow
the old hardstock...reciting rhymes and playing
the old songs on harmonica...a cheery man
he would sit hunting and tell me of the faces
he saw in the trees and make up songs..rhyme
which he would sing over and over...
a well liked man..who saw in nature the beauty
and tried to get along with many...
happy that the surgeons were sucessful in
helping you...The joy of your writing shines
through...an amazing poem Sir..
Thank U!
Thank you
I don't call myself the happy chappy for nothing, it's just the way I am. Those long months of looking Death in the face are all but forgotten.
You having been giving such great feedback to others, Keith
I have tended to ignore your work. So sorry.
Gorgeous language use in this, great beauty with a profound message.
You are what this site exemplifies.
I wish you all the very best.
No problem,
you can't possibly comment on everyone's work. Please continue to greet newcomers, a thing that I fail at more than I care to think of.
