About This Poem
Last Few Words: There was a moral giant whose moniker was the Great Soul. A trail blazer, one who walked the talk, one who was simple not simple-minded, one who, through a revolutionary idea of non-violence, achieved independence for his people at a time when echoes of the World War were still being heard and another Cold War was in the making. Now, a political pygmy parrots the talk of his customized counterparts, mindlessly mouthing the manic message of gloom and doom due to nebulous nightmarish nihilists and pouring billions of dollars worth of precious finances down the offensive defense tube while ignoring the monumental, long-standing problems of a majority of the population that is still beset by myriad and daily problems due to corruption, lack of infrastructure, lack of opportunities, lack of education, lack of security due to societal ills, lack of medical assistance, lack of transparency and plain lack of a future. The Great Soul would have been aghast by the fact that his peaceful independence movement has now degenerated into a race to armed dependence and decadence for a minority elite but a desolate and dreary despondence for the majority of underlings.

Remarkable Riposte
Remark, you have hit the nail on the head and in the process deflated my attempt to give my personal take on my Rhyku. As you correctly stated, the interpretation of the Rhyku should be left to the reader. Utilizing the last few words, I have tried to convey a picture with a thousand words. Thanks
the intrinsic conflicts
Honestly, I would have taken it a political propaganda in the election season rather than a poem. However, the limited knowledge of Rhyku (Haiku) that I have tells me that it is a poem.
In terms of the philosophy behind the 'capitalism,' 'materialism' and 'idealism,' it is very difficult to reconcile among these three. We have such big subjects like 'capitalist idealism,' 'materialist idealism' and just 'idealism.' Nonetheless, the poem is successful in painting the intrinsic conflicts that exist within idealism.
