Street Needles....

Street Needles…

Red lit faces as they smoke,
one pace forward to intimidate.
They laugh, I’m the butt of a joke,
I was here by choice not fate.

Those were dealers that was the lair,
this was their area, ha their superstore.
Sellers of allsorts mostly despair,
passing death from a hole in a door

I visit victims tracked in harm,
my dilemma, how can I judge.
Streets dark devoid of charm,
giant millstones never budge.

Silent steps, I fear my own sound,
shoes sound squeaky down here.
She lies in a gutter easily found,
glad now I conquered my fear.

Finding a pulse I wipe her face,
so very gaunt in my torchlight.
Anger helps to quicken my pace,
it’s a race against time tonight.

Once they had homes people cared,
now their just victims, aren’t we all.
Her need is a needle probably shared,
it’s their oasis, guess they’d crawl.

Medics are great get to work fast,
they don’t even ask for a name.
I’ve got to move that girl's the past,
time now to even up this game.

Face lights up red his head explodes,
his crew they scatter in shock.
Jekyll stashes rifle, also heavy loads,
Dr hide straps on knife and Glock.

I say I don’t judge but my juries out,
no more talk no more distraction.
Sentence is past no wavers or doubt,
their deaths now, merely my reaction.

Geezer

you're mad as hell and are not going to take it anymore! Killer and I like your theme. Join the club!
Your rhyme is pretty good, but I found the rhythm leaving something to be desired. We would really like to see this worked over and made as smooth as it should be. A powerful message. ~ Gee.

Thank you Gee. Yes i get angry when i hear of the misery caused by drugs, and the profit the dealers rake in. I will get to work on the poem, see if i can smooth it out. Once again thank you, Regards Roscoe...
