Numbed

So quiet is the place
and cold,
no heart to furnace
the thought,
no verse
to sing,
the words sink
in her ink.

a moment, that every writer has when they are discouraged.
I like it's simplicity. ~ Gee

There in the quiet of your present home chill memories will cool you and make your movement within words hard.
The heart does not belong to where you are that is why it is cold.
There in that land you love and hunger for dwells a load of memories that you had, now all you need to do is travel in thought to that place and turn them to words on a page some place, there the warmth will shower you with goodness and let the ink flow.
There is no need to look with your eyes just look inside and there you will find that memory with the eternal love, your God will be there some place handing out those things you need,
Go well young lady I look forward to this new think,
Yours as always Ian. x

that cursed writer's block. I've started 6-8 poems over the last few weeks then given them up as being badly begun. Oh, well I'll get one finished before too long I hope. BTW you did well, especially last 2 lines, in describing the struggle..........stan

I guess we all read things different ways or it could be where we are in our minds that makes us read a poem or book a certain way, I felt a kinship with this one for my own reasons.

beautifully sad in a way ... to drown in ink ? what a way to go for a writer

that's dedication
