Chaos

The bodies have begun to pile
the stench of death grips the air,
no more can innocence find shelter
as the structure of humanities wall

Crumble into chaos

Nations strike the heart of the East
Boom ! Again and again and again,
still corpses pile up rotting in streets
as peace finds herself slipping away

Piece by bloody peace

Strangers weep for sisters and brothers
a bond not of blood, but unified grief,
we seek to find reason in a maelstrom
we search soul less eyes for compassion

finding only empty vessels

Hardened by a retoric of brainwashed lies
they've become monsters of suicide
the boogie man under the bed but now
hes sighting the streets in plain view,

She or He ? But WHO ?

Fear has found a home in innocent hearts
children of the night gather trembling,
Knowing not where the next bullet
or bomb or missile will finally strike home

Stealing infinite breathe

I dream of listless easy days
when nightmares came only to dream,
and a light of the purest innocence
rests unsullied on the heart of man

Hate is breed into humanity
Its time to replace those genes

the last 2 lines hit me the most in this piece.

If innocence is dead, then why do we still fight?
If it has truly perished, then hope is lost
There will be no colors to childrens' laughter
no couples wishing for newborns,
expanding families in a godforsaken world.
Nay, I say. Innocence is not dead
Love, hope and dreams are still here!

I will not crumple and throw away my beliefs
and let the authors of this tragedy win!
I refuse to bow to madness and to gripping fear,
I'll spit at the courage of the vile scums
who only dare to strike in the shadows
and murder helpless, unarmed innocents!

Hate will only clouds the mind and breeds enmity.
It is from the womb of hatred that that they rise,
be it brainwashed or victims of their lust and greed
We must be better than them or we'll be disillusioned.
Seek you justice, untainted by revenge.

It is in the hour of need that we'll see our own worth.
It is in the wake of tragedy that we must stand united.

best of wishes and a big hug from
Alid

Geezer

like this one! Only a few little niggles.
1) Crumble[s]
2) Just me, but I think it would flow easier, if it were said; [and] Peace finds....I do love that: piece by bloody peace!
3)soulless
4) he's
5) Not knowing; reads a bit easier
6) bred not breed
This poem eloquently says what all of us are thinking, you just said it better than most.
Love ya, ~ Gee
