Expectations from a flickering candle
The flame of life flickers..... As does a candle... the wind has blown all life away...
now as we ebb they want us to be...
the candle flame,
just lit at the gate
the light is about to dwindle...
the flame does rapidly flicker
what more light can it now give?
it has just no longer
life to kindle
'tis a dying flame
But visitors at the arrival feel
more light the candle can still reveal
ere it finally leaves
all in the dark
till another one comes
Hark!
the candle is still not dead
'tis aflame
they want higher expectations
just the same
the light merges into oblivion
today
fetch a fresher candle
you may.
now finally all say

Ian has been playing with the words..
“Expectations of a flickering candle”.
The flame of life flickers
As does a candle
The wind has blown
All life has faded.
As we ebb
The light is about to dwindle,
the flame does rapidly flicker.
What more light can it now give?
It has no more
life to kindle
'tis a dying flame!
So they want us to be,
the candle flame
Just lit at the gate.
Visitors as they arrive feel
more light candles,
They can still reveal,
ere light finally leaves.
All in the dark.
Till another one comes.
Hark!
The candle is still not dead,
'tis aflame with their light.
They want higher expectations
just the same.
The light merges.
With oblivion today.
Fetch a fresher candle
you all may
now finally say.
See I read it also, just cant put edits in bunches, I would rather write the whole thing out, hope you wont mind,
There is an inconsistency with the time but I am sure as you read it again, you will see that after the candle has gone out it still flickers, I would need another go at this one to sort but time has captured my mind on other things again,
Yours Ian..
