It has been a year and a half since we last ran a workshop concerning… meter.
Now, don’t run off. Let me have my say.
The workshop Rula and I have in mind is simpler than you might expect. To begin with it will be held in the Wading Pool. This will be meter 101. All four of the major metric forms will be used, but not all at once.
We will run the shop in two parts. Part one will concern “iamb” and “anapest” which complement one another. We will not be writing a full length poem, but rather we will utilize a number of exercises to solve this frustration for all involved once and for all.
Part two is the opposite of one and will study “trochee” and “dactyl” which complement each other.
Don't panic. Everything will be explained in multiple ways.
Participants will likely write no more than twelve verses through the workshop, but they will all be a comprehensive exercise in understanding.
We will leave no poet behind. Everyone will understand if I have to keep the shop open until the holidays. There is no limit to the number of participants. The more the more interesting.
Please consider joining us even if you have no trouble with meter. You might find something new.

I despise meter but can use a good challenge at the moment. It has been some time since you have taken me to task. I have missed you :)
This will be different.
We will be taking baby steps to assure that everyone leaves the workshop with a solid understanding of meter. I am going to guarantee that you will get it. What you do with it is up to you, but I will see to it you figure it out this time.
We will be in the Wading Pool you know.
