HURRICANE
The tropical winds from the eastern shore
began to whistle through the outer corridors
like banshees screaming in the night.
the window shutters tight shook to near surrender.
I felt the loneliness weigh heavily on my soul.
as never before. for death was at my door..
I settled down in a corner of my room
wrapped in a blanket, lights turned to dim
as I waited for my world to end.

i could feel he looked after his wife
who appeared ill
and i marveled
silently

how love can till
he drove her away as she smiled
How i admire you now more

thank you, my dear friend
Great poem
in that its a slow forward description
of living ..a walk through
done Poetically
I lived through a wind storm
down here...terrifying
you do think your house
will be torn up
Nothing like feeling
alive when your most
about to maybe die
never forget that one
Glad you're still here
Thank You
Hey Joe,
Your poem and Esker's both speak of storms and their aftermath. yet in vastly different ways. I have read both, and although I am able to understand yours a tad better, the way Stephen words things is a poetic miracle! You are more down to earth, and nitty gritty, which is a blessing also! Great poem, my friend!
Thanks, Lonnie, I write more
Thanks, Lonnie, I write more poetic prose. Stephen is poetic genius,
yes, exactly
How one feels when the elements are wild - one wonders if one will survive, as it seems the destruction won't end, and it is extremely frightening, especially if you are alone...
Great write Joe
