When one has a headache
drink water,
meditate,
take an aspirin.
When pain persists
seek medical advice.
When that fails
seek psychiatric or spiritual help.
When that fails,
like Socrates,
sacrifice a rooster
to Asclepius, god of medicine and his daughters
Hygieia (Hygiene)
Iaso (the goddess of recuperation from illness)
Aceso (the goddess of the healing process)
Aglæa (the goddess of beauty, splendour, glory, magnificence, and adornment)
and Panacea (the goddess of universal remedy)
Their combined compassion provide the only cure
Just as Socrates knew,
when he drank the hemlock.
I think we could spare the rooster

Liked the history walk, but I am sure as I gave Socrates his cup of Hemlock, it was by order of the senate, it has been a long time, so can't remember how he upset them but it matters not now, it was the way in those days, if I see Zeus I shall ask him.
Good write and interesting, take care out there,
Yours Ian
Ta mate,
don't both with Zeus, these old gods get a bit doddery and think they can disport with swans and such for eternity. Very un-hygenic and doesn't make for good conversation.
Also they tend to throw lightning bolts if you make them cranky.
Jess
Good to pass the time with you, we live in different time zones, I wonder what a Victorian would think of us talking across the world, You take care, will see what I can find for later, may even have to write something softy lol.
I think I need to walk in the forest again as the open spaces let others see me, TTFN

sorry jess
I always did profess
good sex
cures all
they all laughed
even you too
but now the medicals relent
have said that sex does have some scent
which does send
head aches away
from the synapses
do try some day
best tis for even migraine
now they say
how can one meditate
when one is sedate
I know you won't like it
coz tis
not simple English!
particularly from me
It does my heart good to see you posting.
You've been far too long in the dry spell I trust has ended.
Interesting poem. Don't have anything to suggest.
I acknowledge the possibility of the existence of light
Ta, mate.
Jess
Honest, I had more fun reading the comments. The poem although good, to me was somewhat dry.
Other than that nothing else to suggest
thanks Chrys
yes, that is quite true, it comes from a pretty emotionally barren place.
Barren Places
Even the most barren of places we can find,
are as the most fertile.
The great Sahara desert in its barren ways.
With the help of the wind
makes the rainforest of the Amazon grow.
Here inside we have spaces of the mind.
They can be filled in an instant.
Just think of when you hear a child cry out.
It activates all sorts of different emotions and brain activity.
Though if I scream out in pain would you hear me.
Those around you would have a space filled with your love.
That love sustains us into responses
Those responses are they ours
or do they belong to the whole.
These great empty spaces are waiting just for you to fill,
Yours Ian.T
