A life to sleep

They say now sleep
why are you awake
tis so late...

is all life we have to sleep?
and so why should one weep
let the sun and stars and the moon
do their rounds
all around me
then let them turn by turn sleep
when I am 103
then will be my turn to sleep
as these three folks

the sun the moon and millions of their siblings
lovely galaxy stars
stand beside me...
as I slumber the eternal sleep
where will then you humans try to find me
in missiles
as Moon, Mars and Jupiter you sweep

So till that does happen
you sleep
let me continue to my mind sweep
and newer vineyards of poetry creep
then as you lullaby with my words
I shall sleep
but then not besides thee

Good to know you are able to enjoy the celestial spectacle when you are not able to sleep...here it's been cloudy over the past few days....

Regards,

We will end up sleeping past the end of this Universe,
yet we will see it in all its glory.
Stars will die and be reborn as the tide of eternity reaches out.
There in those folds of relativity we will find a cave to sit in and have another cup of tea.
As all the stars here become fed up with their outward journey and return, then we will watch and pour another tea,
and be eternal within eternity,
Yours Ian.T
