Different skins same sins
We’re men of different skins,
fighting for a coloured flag.
In the end no one ever wins,
all that sin for nothing, a drag.
Does it matter who fires the first shot,
I wonder what the bibles say.
If they fight for what you’ve got,
isn’t that coveting on display.
Covet a very comfortable word,
in a book of ready made excuses.
To say it borders on the absurd,
only ever helps hide it’s abuses.
Pillage is that not the better used,
after all it goes straight for the throat.
Giving clarity to those we’ve abused,
making whoever’s next, take note.
Slaughter, doesn’t that just ring out,
you can just picture all that mess.
Limbs lopped off as people shout,
an action that really does impress.
Maim, disfigure or simply torture,
man has really made this an art.
Perhaps beheading will end, in future,
we’ll return to gouging out the heart.
See man can never end his cruelty,
whatever bibles or psychiatry says.
We just have to face man’s reality,
if we have greed then cruelty stays.

Solid write as always. I do have a couple owns for you, though. S1 l4 I don't think that drag is nearly a strong enough word and I stumbled on S4 l1.
Thank you,
Thank you Scott for your time and comments, i have started to work on the pieces you highlighted. Regards Roscoe...

Good venting out in these poetic verses which is very much in the context of the ghastly and brutal acts of mankind. The closing line nicely wraps up the essence of your write "if we have greed then cruelty stays".. i couldn't agree with you more...sadly that's how it is..
Regards,
Thank you,
Thank you raj, we are the most murderous animal on this planet, but we always try and fail to justify it. Regards Roscoe..
