craving your kiss
hungry for your arms
soothing sleep eludes,
absent of your breath
whispering in my ear.

Sleeping alone is its own
Sleeping alone is its own loneliness. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and intimacy breeds contempt", but there is that middle place where both are missed.

Lori,
Lori,
it always a difficult task to write a piece of poetry that tells it all in so few words...you've cracked it with this one.
It has a veneer of elegance to it, although the sadness runs through it perfectly.
Like it!

Thank you so much for reading this short little poem...I truely was heartbroken when I wrote it and could think of nothing else to say about it.... :)
Peace,
Lori
Hi Loreli
I aree with Seren. I think it is short and to the point. I think you have written a lot in a few phrases, nice work.
