Even before
a single word was uttered
man cried
man smiled
man laughed
We have words now
fragments of sound
shaped, moulded
to suit our physical needs
but much
remains unexpressed
All language is subservient
to a larger cause –
sound trapped
on tendrils of silence
Words are good
they are clever
they help us
fulfil our physical needs
but the moment
we move
into the metaphysical
mindscape,
words freeze
buckle up
are paralysed -
totally inept
at giving shape
to our ripe spiritual inheritance
In a vast sea
of the unexpressed
and the ostensibly inexpressible
little islands crop up
like maps delineating
an unexplored universe
Beyond our screams
and incessant empty
rants
lies a universe
wordless expression

I liked this, you describe
I liked this, you describe the myth of spirit in such a sensitive manner.
I specially liked this bit::
"sound trapped
on tendrils of silence"

Expression, it is many things, words seem inadequate when describing a thing of beauty that takes your breathy away.
I see where you are heading on this one, and from the odd experience I have had over a period of times whilst talking to a child that could only say NO in our talk, it opened my eyes to what an expression you can get by just answering questions with one word.
The child was from another place that I know well and had not learned to talk as we do, it was really lovely to hold a talk with her, the expressions she even as a child could portray in just one word, made the odd poem seem inadequate.
We must search for those things that make our words describe things as they really are and not the general conception.
Take care, Yours Ian.T
Hi Ian - Nice to meet up once again after a long hiatus
I appreciate the insight and clarity with which you have commented. Yes, sometimes one word or better still complete silence can be very expressive.

Ian, As you know I have been absent from Neopoet for a long time. I am more than a little disappointed that some of my best work has disappeared from the site. I was wondering whether you could throw some light on whether I could possibly retrieve the work. Would appreciate it greatly

I think that Stan or one of the AC members may be able to help you in retrieving your older works.
I never put work straight on to stream it is on Word first then transferred to stream and at the same time to my own history and belt and braces to other places if I feel the piece is good enough.
Good luck with your search on Neopoet, I am lucky in that I have a web site of my own just used for writing.
I have a few in a folder titled others works I don't think you are there though but will look.
I hope you can find the pieces you need,
Yours as always Ian.T
Thanks Ian
I have just posted "AN OPEN LETTER TO THE CREATOR". If you have the time, go through it.
Thanks
Leonard
Have read and commented on your open letter lol.
There is a point I forgot that when in this one we learned to talk with words did we lose the ability of telepathy, if so we lost out.
Now we can lie about all things, and not be found out (Maybe)
This is where the children I talk to are supreme, they use what they call think talk, some of the children cannot speak with words, or as they talk about one of the children his name is Robert they say "He don't Talk"
Then the one that only says "No" they only need to revert to talk words when speaking to such as me, but sometimes they seem to think talk and it is understood but this is only after a few years of understanding feelings on their level.
I know it is useful to have the spoken words, but as you will see they are becoming a mixture of abbreviated scrawl when our children here talk on the net and by text, the electronic age is making things so fast that the children will eventually revert to think talk again.
Without the violence the Shaolin teaching seems to incorporate many of the things you seek, go well young friend in your search for the truth, Yours Ian.T
Hi Ian
How do I get in touch with AC members?
Leonard
Leonard
I think that Stan is one of the AC members, they are voted in about every six months or less. Stan will be the best one to ask on this, Yours Ian.T
Stan's username is scribbler
the other AC members are Rula and
