Old Cards and Memories

In reading through a stack of old birthday, anniversary and
other greeting cards sent and received,
the sender vividly remembered in the collective verse.
In the underscored words of each line she whispers
them in my ear again as she had once whispered them.
Their reading brings a smile and sometimes a tear.
Read through several times they’re gathered up and
tucked away once more.
There stored until her words begin to
fade from memory again.
