The Act
More often than not,
eyes, ears, tongue, nose, skin, sense less
in these puppet shows.
The Plot
A dubious plot
the puppeteer unfolds
from his dark domain.
The mystery
Innocent puppets
hang between life and death
strangled and maimed.
The effect
While the curtain falls,
eyes, ears, nose, tongue, skin, sense less
in the commotion.
The victims
More often than not,
the mute puppets pay the price,
while the show goes on.
and we are made to watch these gruesome acts
with blind folds, ears plugged,
tongues tied, stench of death
and fear skin deep.

Hi raj
This is a place where I don't like to be, but this is life, isn't it?
Loved the language use here, simple and effective.
Well done!
Hi Rula
Thank you for your time and leaving an appreciative comment. Yes, this is about reality though we don't like it.
the puppeteer
reminds of the shadows
yet to be cast ,
as they will
upon all including him
so he endears
Thanks loved for the read

I think this is rather brilliant, Raj.
A really effective structure utilising simple language to unfold a timeless allegory.
"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages."
William Shakespeare
my reading of it, hope it helps

Thanks for visiting my page and your comment. Although the puppet shows are soundless, those witnessing the spectacle lend it a voice of their own while connecting with the feelings of each puppet manipulated by the unseen Puppeteer. Thanks for lending your voice to this poem. In doing so, you have made the words come alive with the undertones and modulation of your voice.

puppet....hmmm
