You hurt me no longer.

Righteous anger
Fully justified
Flames the heart deep inside.

Frustration burns
Eclipsing hours
Raining scolding showers.

Insanity
Blisters restless strife
Jilting the joy of life.

Sleepless despair
Seething aggression
Tossing cruel depression.

Penetrating
Assailing sweet dreams
Flaring internal screams.

Assaulting me
With explosive force
Scorching without remorse.

I forgive you
And let you walk free
Not for you but for me.

My heart cools down
Beating quiet calm
Washed over with loves balm.

I’ve put you out
You’re just a faint hiss
Smothered with forgiveness.

You no longer hurt me.

Thanks for reading and commenting Shirl. There have been a couple of times in my life when I have felt serverly angry over an injustice - one of my lifes lessons was that in the end the anger damaged me and stopped me from moving on. So this is my take on how to deal with injustice, ( though it's not easy ). That doesn't mean to say we didn't seek justice, in one case it took two years in court to resolve the problem.

sometimes the memory of a hurt far outweighs the hurt itself. You put this very well. Just as a thought, you could try forgiveness' instead of quiet in last line and see if you like it.............stan

I defiantley have rant inside me - it rarely comes out, it gets bottled up, but I hate the aftermarth of a rant
( makes me feel bad - even if it is justified ). Besides when I do a rant I talk ten to the dozen and no one understands me. Lol
