Lights - splash pool poem posted on behalf of Geezer

Multi-colored streaking lights, wash across my windshield's night
Wiper shadows swishing past, keeping pace with raindrops fast
The motor purrs, and tires shussssh, through icy puddles... slush
Gosh, I guess that Autumn's come, a little cooler, dwindling sun

Geese in their high flying vees, and bright colors in the trees
Squirrels frantic in their gathering, different birds begin to sing
I see the signs of Summer's end, I feel that I have lost a friend
Oh well, it's time to go, the shitty weather tells me so

THE CRUISE (as refined by the Splash Pool Workshop)

THE CRUISE

We sailed their yacht to paradise,
At least that’s what it seemed.
White coral sand, blue sea, green palms,
The place we all had dreamed.

We’d had our plans made for a while,
To steal their yacht and run;
We meant the pair no harm - I swear,
But the old man pulled a gun.

Overpowered and beat up some,
Now both too scared to speak-
They can’t be found, both had to drown,
So their lifeboat sprung a leak.

“Drugs”

Drugs can aid the ailing
And injure the consumer
Lacking in judgment

It hurts those using to amusing
Making folks yearning for highs
Remains unhealthy and unwise

Those entertaining
In place of sickness and ailments
Yield to deflate influences
Turns souls to evil

Destroying lives and minds

Various ones damaged by deceit
Others remain in Sheol
Waiting for renewed
Opportunities in life

May the spirit go back to God
The amusing drugs can overcome
