Titles
Here is how I feel about titles
a title is the first thing your reader sees thereby feeding the interest to read the work
Draw your reader in make them stop and say " hmm that is an interesting title wonder what it is a bout
for example rather than "dragons" as a title why not say Dragons of Delusia
I lost count of poems with the title "Love" to the point where I pass it by
It is ok to use love in your title but beef it up and get creative
My pet peeve with titles is using "untitled" i my humble opion if you have taken the time to compose a piece of work for petes sake give it a title
it is your creation
If you created a child wouldn't you name it
well as stated a poem is your child give it a title
and that is what Stan's workshop is about
here he will guide you through the process and purpose of a title and a good one at that
perhaps you do not agree with my point of view that means you are thinking. lets hear how you feel about it
Hi! I'd love to join your

Next to post poems
Lavender and Geezer. Please post your poem on stream and don't forget to put (Title Shop) next to title
a question
What about folks who post untitled poems?
Stan
don't even get me on that soapbox if you have wriiten(ceated) a poem them for heavens sakes give it a name woukd you nit give a bame to a child you have created well then I say no more
Of course
But you realize that although none of the suggested titles might not suit the author but they may very well get them to thinking about some options and they will come up with a better title of their own
teddy
you might verify this but I beleve when you hit edit you can change your title
I wonder why
Nobody advertised this workshop on the main stream It has no apparent announcement whatsoever.
I'd like to join if you may Stan?
I
Posted 2 or 3 blogs on stream announcing it as an upcoming shop and then as being in the sign up stage and then as being underway. But you are of course welcome to join. I'll sign you up now.
Thank you
Stan
I understand that we
need to wait for you signing the names to post. Anything else to consider when posting?
Ok
When I call on you to post just post your poem with its original title on stream with (titles workshop) next to title. You likely need to catch up on the conversation which is also on stream under "TITLE SHOP...let's begin"
Just check out the main shop thread and make your
contributions to the ongoing conversation there. BTW you will also see that I've already asked you to post your poem
Stan
have you forgotten me?
LOL
Of course not! If you check the main workshop thread where assignments are being given you will see that I asked you to post your "poorly" titled poem earlier today.
Joining
I'll join if you have space for me? thanks
You are most welcome
I'll get you on the list in a few minutes. Please be sure to catch up on the conversation here and of the other titles thread
I'll try to find it
I hope I find it today but have been busy. I'll be around daily though. Not sure what I may add to this conversation, it seems its an opinion pole of sorts?!
I like titling my poetry as it gives me the feeling of authorship like little else does. I understand the bit about it being like your child. I agree! Making it unique for me is becoming a problem due to having written so many poems for so many years. It's a tad more challenging than before but not impossible. It's like having a hat on in a winter storm, you're glad to have the warmth and protection it provides. Perhaps copyright issues would be less with a titled poem?? Just my two cents.
Just go to stream then scroll down until you find
" TITLES....let's begin" that is where most of the discussions are as well as where assignments are handed out.
I agree that after a while keeping from repeating titles can be difficult.
Oops sorry you may delete
