you are trying to make a new start with someone new and letting them know what you expect from the get-go. I went back and read your last one to gain a sense of why this is related to it. I like your assertion that you want to be equal partners and not just somebody's lover, companion. It fits well with the last one, where you put all your hopes on the [companion/lover].
