wow oldie goldie

oldie goldie
well nice,
I too saw
a lovely oldie couple

I was traveling in a New York bound bus
and the highway had no crossing,
yet, across the opposite road,
I saw an elderly couple,
who could hardly walk …

the man moved inch by inch,
his woman did not flinch,
all bus drivers slowed down
in obeisance..

then another set,
I saw an old lady
who saw her hubby
fumbling with a toast,
he could no longer butter…

she pulled his knife and gave a smile
applied the layer and kissed it
she had all that to give

the hubby was in tears with joy
he confessed
he'd marry her again
if given one more choice...

the possibility of having to depend on someone other than yourself, one day. It also gives you a look at the love that people have for each other. It teaches that doing the littlest thing for another might mean a very lot to them. Nice sentiments, nicely done. ~ Gee

We hope that we will have that special person there to lean on, when we slow in our walk to eternity.
What can you say I expect there are many that would just love to have someone there to say goodbye to.
I liked this write and hope that none here find that last moments are just an empty space, Yours Ian.T.
