Give me not the wilderness of stars
which sparkle there seductively
for I know how they really are.
They care not for you and me.
Their home is space, sterile and cold
like their spare light when darkness falls
and they're unbelievably old
hidden in between the parsec's walls.
That wilderness of time and space
is no place for soul or mind.
It recognizes not my soul or face;
to sanctity of life it's blind.
All that cold bland emptiness
All that mindless sensory deprivation
All that emptiness
emptiness...
nothingness
just me

ha ha haaaaaaa
lol should be enough
So odd...
that the stars are supposed to be the stuff of life, yet they seem so cold and distant. Much like some people, maybe they are the aliens? Interesting morphology. Hmmmm. ~ Geez.
.
Gee
were u ever a biolojist xgx
No...
Not a biologist, but I wanted to be. ~ Geez.

i kinda started thinking about those Russian cosmonaughts
rumored to have been lost drifting into space and what they must have thought of the new wilderness. And you are right many people are also cold and distant
I hadn't thought...
of them in many years! I too, wonder [if it were true] and if someday, they would be found by another race of beings, drifting through space and wondered about. Would they think that they were just foolish people that had gotten lost or would they think that they were just abandoned? [In the interest of science of course]. ~ Geez.

Stan
Your poetry has gone from strength to strength. You've managed to instill some awe in me.
Thanks man.
Hi Jim
Instilled awe? Well that leaves me speechless
Good stuff Stan! This piece
Good stuff Stan! This piece captured the same feelings I have every time I ponder my own insignificance when I take the time to look up at night - well done!
Best
Hi Michael

Hi Mark
Even one such as I stubbles around and pens something good once in a while lol. i guess getting people to think of stuff only remotely related to a poem is a good thing
