What i like and what i love

I like when road leads to the sky.
I walk and see ahead only clouds
slowly sliding on the wet asphalt
as if they are about
to sit down with me and chat.

I like the smell of wet dust
after the first drops of rain and how
they fall on the ground
with resonant thumps.

I like when shadows manifest
as lilacs and better yet palaces
lost in meandering tracks.

I like to steal green apples
from the absentminded trees
and make love under their nearsighted
and questioning glances.

I like to grab from the bottom
round skeletons of sand dollars,
to wear light cloths, worn down
and bleached by the tropical sun.

And I love when silence
is broken by laughter.

with a nice twist at the end. a very relaxing poem. It's a nice eclectic group.

(a thought: when in your comments you added relaxing "tune"..so I think of lyrics. This, or another similar poem, could also be done in rhyme. I have just found that sometimes it feels so good to write in rhyme, especially when you know what want to say like this poem....just want to pass that along.)

Best thanksgiving to you!

Makes me feel like I'm taking a stroll down a lane between apple trees and then heading off to the beach for a relaxing wade in the water, picking up shells. ~ Geezer.

reading your poem made me feel as if a box of treats and allowed to make choices...the ones I found more savory than others are Stanzas 1 and 4

I could actually see the clouds sit down and chat, remarkable imagination

" I like to steal green apples from the absentminded trees
and make love under their nearsighted and questioning glances" - brought on laughter creating an image of a naughty fun loving teenager...choice of the words absent minded trees and questioning glances is unique....

and the concluding 2 lines are like ice cream a great finesse..

thanks for this treat...
