Soft rain drops gently through new leaves
then drums upon my roof of tin
now before the summer yet begins
brought by warming summer breeze.
The squirrels pay it no attention
unlike if it were a real downpour
lashing at windows and door.
Their actions displaying little tension.
Among the green are blooms of spring
from white and yellow to deep blue
with heads of grain also in view
accompanied by birds which sing.
A turkey gobbles out of sight
down near the bottom of the hill
likely beside the tiny rill.
For him the rain holds little fright.
We watch this all through rear glass door
whose view takes in the woods and deck
and the hillside which I often trek.
We've shared this sight often before.

Hi
Thanks for the typo spot. I guess I could blame getting old but I have been plagued with them for years lol
As I wasn't...
here first, I couldn't catch your typo. I am glad that yours is the only rain here right now, I can deal with this gentle rain that bathes the squirrels and turkey. Damn squirrels! Anyway, good write. ~ Geezer.

Hi Chrys
Always good to see you dropped by
Lovely poem in 5 quartets,
Lovely poem in 5 quartets, scribbler. As usual, I think one can do away with several "the"s and "which"s, but that's just me.
Love the sound of soft rain, the views of nature and all flora and fauna. You're privileged if that's where you live now. xxx
Greetings Gracy
I am hardly a minimalist am I lol. Thanks for the visit
Spring Rain
Hi, Scribbler,
So much to see and hear within your poem, and all through the back door! Where I live it's been raining or overcast for many days, now. Your poem has helped me appreciate this quiet, peaceful time.
Thank you,
L
