War Upon War:
About This Poem
Last Few Words: Memorials, memories become more sacred and sacrosanct with the passage of time. While the emotions of the moment necessitate the need to create a monument so that the events are always remembered, a more fitting tribute would be to ensure that the future is war free and another generation does not need to experience first hand the trauma of the victims. .

Powerful
It is a powerful message. I am finding this style of poem is pretty powerful in hammering the messages into the mind. I have been to a number of war memorials. I believe more memorials are on the way. No way to stop them. No one can stop them. However, we always try. A good one!
War upon War
It is easy to start a conflict / war. Just like a pebble thrown in a pond creates ever widening ripples and like opening Pandora's box, the protagonist is ultimately responsible for the ever widening chaos, destruction and deaths. Instead of trying to pick up the broken pieces and trying to patch up the wounds and relationships, there needs to be a calm, concerted consensus on conciliation prior to even discussing the need to counter a conflict.
